Streicherduos aus halb Europa in Brüssel

Eine fantastische Geigerin aus Österreich und ein phänomenal begabter Cellist aus Albanien bilden das Stipendiatenduo, das die Landesstiftung Villa Musica in diesem Jahr in der Landesvertretung in Brüssel präsentiert. Elisso Gogibedaschwili ist vielfache Preisträgerin bei internationalen Violinwettbewerben und Förderpreisträgerin des Landes Vorarlberg. Der Cellist Klaudio Zoto wurde in Cremona und Siena, Kronberg und Düsseldorf ausgebildet und bei Wettbewerben vielfach ausgezeichnet. Beide gehören zum exklusiven Kreis der Villa Musica-Stipendiaten und haben schon in vielen Konzerten in Rheinland-Pfalz reüssiert, etwa auf einer Tournee mit Vivaldis „Vier Jahreszeiten“ im letzten Advent oder in Beethoven-Konzerten letzten Sommer. In Brüssel spielen sie die Sonate, die Maurice Ravel als Hommage an Debussy komponiert hat, vor allem aber romantische Impressionen und Virtuosenstücke aus halb Europa: vom Belgier Ysaÿe und vom Italiener Rolla, vom Spanier Cassadò, vom Russen Glière und vom Franzosen Godard. Spektakulärer Abschluss wird Händels Passacaglia in der unfassbar brillanten Fassung des Norwegers Halvorsen sein.

String Duos from Across Europe in Brussels

A fantastic violinist from Austria and a phenomenally talented cellist from Albania make up the scholarship duo that the Villa Musica State Foundation is presenting this year at the State Representation in Brussels. Elisso Gogibedaschwili is a multiple prize winner at international violin competitions and a recipient of the State of Vorarlberg’s scholarship. Cellist Klaudio Zoto trained in Cremona, Siena, Kronberg, and Düsseldorf and has received numerous awards at competitions. Both belong to the exclusive circle of Villa Musica scholarship recipients and have already enjoyed success in many concerts in Rhineland-Palatinate, such as on a tour performing Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons” during the last Advent or in Beethoven concerts last summer. In Brussels, they will perform the sonata that Maurice Ravel composed as a tribute to Debussy, but above all romantic impressions and virtuoso pieces from across Europe: by the Belgian Ysaÿe and the Italian Rolla, the Spaniard Cassadò, the Russian Glière, and the Frenchman Godard. The spectacular finale will be Handel’s Passacaglia in the incredibly brilliant arrangement by the Norwegian Halvorsen.
